Watch out

Installing one or two upside-down (head on bottom) is the easiest mistake to make here. Walk all four bolts before you torque — heads UP, locknuts DOWN.

(4) 1/2" x 1.75" flange head bolts (Box 1)
(4) 1/2" mechanical locknuts (Box 1)

The upper control arm has a cross-shaft that bridges two mounting flanges on the chassis. For a standard street setup, slide the cross-shaft BETWEEN the two flanges (the R-model race location is different — the shaft sits on top with 0.84" spacers; see the manual if you are building an R).
Thread the four 1/2" x 1.75" flange head bolts TOP-DOWN through the flanges into the locknuts — all on the upper arm should have heads on top and locknuts on the bottom.
One quirk to verify before final tightening: on the LEFT side, the solid side of the plate goes on the FRONT. Confirm that, then torque the two arm-to-frame bolts on each side to 108-115 (80-85 ).
