Watch out

The slider pin bolts look small but they hold the whole caliper together. Forgetting to torque them is easy because the wrenches are awkward — use the torque wrench, not the feel of your hand.

Parts from your kit

front brakes (Box 18): caliper slider pins, supplied bolts, rubber grease boots
(4) M12 x 35mm 12-point bolts (Box 21)

For each caliper, push the chrome slider pin through its bore in the caliper body and thread the supplied bolt in from the opposite side. Hold the slider pin with a 16mm wrench and tighten the bolt with a 12mm socket. Torque to 23-26 .
Once both slider pins are torqued on a caliper, push the small rubber grease boots over the exposed pin ends and seat them against the lip on the caliper body. The boots keep brake dust and water out of the pins so the caliper continues to slide freely as the pads wear.
